    Get PDF
Adrenal cavernous hemangioma is a rare benign tumor, most commonly diagnosed incidentally on imaging studies. Hereby we report a case of adrenal cavernous hemangioma with myelolipoma in a 39-year-old female presenting with epigastric pain for six months. CT scan of abdomen and pelvis showed a 38*27 mm left adrenal mass with heterogeneous enhancement and calcification. Laparoscopic left adrenalectomy was performed and pathologic examination grossly showed an encapsulated oval mass with multicystic cut surfaces containing hematoma. Microscopically, blood filled dilated vascular channels lined by endothelial cells with foci of adipose tissue admixed with normal hematopoietic cells were seen. Positive immunostaining for CD31 and CD34 confirmed the diagnosis of cavernous hemangioma. So, cavernous hemangioma associated with myelolipoma of the adrenal gland should always be considered as a differential diagnosis of adrenal masses

Combining Fuzzy MCDM with BSC Approach in Performance Evaluation of Iranian Private Banking Sector

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to construct an approach based on multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) and balanced scorecard (BSC) for evaluating performance for three nongovernmental Iranian's banks. Following the literature relating to banking performance and BSC concepts, experts and managers select 21 indexes for evaluation. Furthermore, fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) calculated the relative weights of each chosen index in order to tolerate vagueness and ambiguity of information, and three MCDM analytical tools (TOPSIS, VIKOR, and ELECTRE) were adopted to rank the banking performance. The results indicate that a customer “” has the most significant BSC perspectives and the customer satisfaction “1” is the most major index in banking sector. This proposed fuzzy MCDM method combined with BSC approach is a comprehensive and up-to-date model that can be a useful and effective assessment tool

Analyzing the Types of Complaint Poems in Attar's Poetry

    Get PDF
Complaint lyrics are one of the themes and types of literary subtypes, which means to confabulate from the painful events of life and express its speaker's pain and grief. Complaint poems are diverse in terms of subject matter and content. Many factors, including the sensitivities and psychological conditions of the poet, as well as the socio-political factors influencing his environment, affect the diversity of themes and concepts existing in the complaint lyrics. The political and social disturbances in society in the sixth century have led to a rise in the frequency of complaint poetry in this period. In this article, by reviewing the poems of Attar, complaint poetry has been analyzed in terms of both language and content. In terms of content, they are divided into five categories: political, social, mystical, philosophical, and personal; and each has been investigated and analyzed individually. These poems are sometimes expressed in an indirect and humorous language, and sometimes in a serious and direct way

The antidepressant effects of aloe vera hydro alcoholic extract at different concentrations were compared with the fluoxetine-treated and the control groups of mice using forced-swimming, FST and open box, OFT tests. The mice were evaluated in five groups (control, taking aloe vera at the dosage levels of 150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg, and 450 mg/kg, and finally fluoxetine at a dose of 10 mg/kg) by the FST and OFT tests on 1st, 7th, and 14th days. The results of the OFT test showed no significant differences between these five groups. The results of FST test indicate the antidepressant effects of aloe vera even at low doses and it was found that the effect of fluoxetine at a dose of 10 mg/kg was equivalent to the effect of aloe vera at a dose of 150 mg/kg for the reduction in immobility time in mice in FST test. According to the results obtained from FST test, the antidepressant effects on mice treated with the 450 mg/kg dose of aloe vera showed better recovery as compared with other groups on 1st, 7th, and 14th days. With regard to the experiments performed at different times, all the evidence pointed to the conclusion that the antidepressant effect of aloe vera was more than the control group.  Based on the results of the OFT and FST tests, aloe vera extract at different doses, has favorable antidepressant effects on mice as compared to the fluoxetine-treated and the control groups  and the better effects were seen by increasing the dose and duration of drug use.

Gamification is a relatively new concept that has seen a significant increase in its use in recent years. Gamification involves the application of game elements in a non-gaming environment to create a gaming experience related to a product or service. The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of different aspects of gamification (immersion, achievement, social) on customer engagement (emotional, cognitive, social) in the online store of Digikala. The research population consists of consumers and users of the Digikala website who have made at least one purchase on this site. In this regard, 222 questionnaires obtained from Digikala website users' data were analyzed. The research model was designed by reviewing the literature related to the research topic and previous studies, and it was analyzed using structural equation modeling. Finally, it was determined that the aspects of gamification have a positive and significant effect on customer engagement. The immersion aspects of gamification have a positive impact on emotional aspects of customer engagement, the achievement aspects affect the cognitive aspects of customer engagement, and the social aspects of gamification also have a stronger positive impact on the social aspects of customer engagement

Studying the Effects of Negative and Positive Perceptions of Price on Price Mavenism

    Get PDF
Abstract: Despite the importance of price mavens, little empirical research exists on understanding its theoretical and marketing drivers; especially in different cultural contexts Buyers in Iran often communicate positive and negative purchasing experiences through Word-of-Mouth (WOM), which creates special problems and opportunities for marketers. Price mavenism, which is associated with price-information searching and price-sharing behavior, is often considered as negative dimension of price. The purpose of this study, however, is to propose price mavenism as an outcome variable arising from both positive perceptions of price (prestige sensitivity) and negative perceptions (price and value consciousness). For this purpose structured questionnaire was developed to collect data and totaling 206 questionnaires of Iranian consumers were analyzed. The conceptual model was tested using structural equation modeling. This study found that prestige sensitivity, price consciousness and value consciousness shaped price mavenism among the Iranians, supporting the idea that price mavenism arises from both positive and negative perceptions of price

Nanostructured multifunctional stimuli-responsive glycopolypeptide-based copolymers for biomedical applications

    Get PDF
Inspired by natural resources, such as peptides and carbohydrates, glycopolypeptide biopolymer has recently emerged as a new form of biopolymer being recruited in various biomedical applications. Glycopolypeptides with well-defined secondary structures and pendant glycosides on the polypeptide backbone have sparked lots of research interest and they have an innate ability to self-assemble in diverse structures. The nanostructures of glycopolypeptides have also opened up new perspectives in biomedical applications due to their stable three-dimensional structures, high drug loading efficiency, excellent biocompatibility, and biodegradability. Although the development of glycopolypeptide-based nanocarriers is well-studied, their clinical translation is still limited. The present review highlights the preparation and characterization strategies related to glycopolypeptides-based copolymers, followed by a comprehensive discussion on their biomedical applications with a specific focus on drug delivery by various stimuli-responsive (e.g., pH, redox, conduction, and sugar) nanostructures, as well as their beneficial usage in diagnosis and regenerative medicine.Peer reviewe

    Get PDF
Background: Prostate Cancer is recognized as the second cause of death due to cancers among men worldwide. Due to the lack of local evidence on the survival rate of patients with prostate cancer, this study aimed to estimate the 5-year survival rate of patients afflicted with this condition in Iran. Materials and Methods:  This study made use of information on 9,772 prostate cancer cases who were registered in the National Cancer Registry during 2010-15. A telephone survey, with a response rate of 35%, was conducted to gather additional information such as death status, demographic characteristics, and clinical profile. Kaplan-Meier estimates was used to estimate five-year survival rates. Results: The overall five-year survival rate of prostate cancer was 82% (95% CI: 80-83%).  Significantly higher five-year survival rates were observed among retired patients (rate: 94%,95%CI: 92-96), patients receiving a combination of radiotherapy and surgery (rate: 92%,95%CI: 89-94), and patients residing in rural areas (rate: 92%, 95%CI: 90-93). Conclusion: We found that various factors such as occupation, area of residence, and the type of medication, may influence on survival rate of prostate cancer. Careful evaluation and understanding of effective factors are required to adopt proper health policies and treatment options. Due to the importance of etiologic and epidemiological data, inclusion of such data into the national registry system for Prostate Cancer is strongly recommended
